Here’s my version of a completely in-game Star Citizen alpha 3.0 trailer, showcase, sizzle reel, highlight reel, etc. It’s a two minute, cinematic romp through various locations, encounters & gameplay mechanics in an attempt to visually showcase how big & diverse this game is already. All footage was recorded in game by me in Star Citizen Alpha 3.0 within the sandbox “Universe” or “Crusader” game mode with the use of ReShade for some control over levels, colors, filmgrain & depth of field effects. After a long period of waiting, signs are that 3.0 is close to being released to backers now that Evocati testers have they hands on it. Evocati is the name given to a small (600 or so) group of Star Citizen backers who get the first shot at trying out the newest patches. Making claims of seamless ground to space travel, fancy artwork and immersive worlds is easy at E3, but how will it look in-game? In the case of Ubisoft’s E3 presentation, it seems they can back up their fancy cinematic intro with some stunning in-engine graphics shown here! We also get so see a very seamless transition from a camera zooming out from Knox standing on a giant statue to being zoomed all the way out and seeing the entire moon! So far the in-engine game looks promising, we at TEST Gaming look forward to seeing the game progress!

Putting a spin on static in-game screenshots, this video is a 4k compilation of four parallax effect clips I created using in-game screenshots from Star Citizen Alpha 2.6. These use a technique commonly called “Parallax Scrolling” which: “is a technique in computer graphics and web design, where background images move by the camera slower than foreground images, creating an illusion of depth in a 2D scene and adding to the immersion.
